Common scams
- A "delivery agent" or "clearing" fee before the meeting. Real sellers do not ask for one.
- A payment alert or screenshot sent as proof of payment. Check your own bank app, or use Safe Buy and its release code.
- A message that claims to come from listing.ng, Bolrach Pay or Safe Buy. Those notices only ever appear in the app itself.
- A price far below every similar ad, with pressure to pay today.
Cars and other vehicles
- Check the customs papers and the VIN before paying
- Inspect the car with a mechanic you trust
- Meet in a busy public place in daylight
Property and rent
- Never pay an inspection fee before seeing the property
- See the title document and confirm who owns it
- Pay rent only after getting the keys and an agreement
Phones and tablets
- Check the phone is not locked to an iCloud or Google account
- Test calls, the camera and charging before paying
